Lori N Ty

Taking single "momhood" one long day at a time....on a cattle ranch, in a town where your next door neighbor knows what you are doing before you do, all the while being so broke it's not even funny.

Summertime

I am still here, just... boring.

The weather is changing. I am nursing plants that keep getting too cold and suffering shock from transplanting. I have become somewhat of a barbecue novice. I CAN DO IT!!

That is about it.

Oh, and I was shot down and had my ego terribly damaged by this guy who picked a toothless hag with the personality of a demon with hemorrhoids over yours truly. I am still recovering from that. Several people have tried to put it into perspective for me so that I am not feeling soo bad. Sometimes it works, others, well not so much. The fact still remains, he chose her over me.

There are a few new cowboys.

Ty graduates kindergarten in 2 weeks.

I am questioning my sanity in choosing to be the t-ball coach. The weekend games are GOOD and I am all asmile and happy I did it. The weekday games, those are a different story. OH MY GOD. Yesterday, I almost bawled at what a wreck it was. The kids were tired, I was tired. It was hot. It was just a bad time. And the other coach was so perky and happy and in control and I felt like I was going to have a nervous breakdown.

Of course, since the weather is changing, I am sleeping like hell and that is contributing immensely. Last night, I crawled into bed at 8:59 p.m. and the last time I looked at the clock, it was 11:28 p.m.

And then, the kids. There are always kids that cause all kinds of disruption on the team. I never thought that mine would be one of them. The last couple of weeks, he has turned into "Axe Murderer - The Beginning". But, there are days that I look at all of their faces and they are so into it and willing and I am glad that I did opt to coach. I love it, for the most part.

That is about it. The last apartment has been moved into by some close friends and so, we will party like frat children all summer long. We are planning on camping this summer and I have a concert to attend (a free one at that!), a bull riding event and possible plans for the fourth of July. It is shaping up to be a fun summer.
